An attempt has been made to classify the games described in this section according to the age groups and sex for which they are most suitable. It is obviously impossible to be exact in such designations. Some of the games for boys from six to eleven years of age are also played and enjoyed by teen-age boys. Girls like some of the so-called boys' games and the boys like some of the girls' games, and in one case at least (Shoe Scramble) the game is equally popular with adults and children of both sexes. So no one looking for games for some particular age group should limit himself to one section. The equipment or materials needed to run off most of the following children's games is fairly simple. Rope will be needed for starting and finishing race lines, and a supply of paper bags, beanbags, rubber balloons and some one-foot lengths of two-by-fours. The number of these articles depends on the size of the picnic group.
