How to Choose Shrubs
Shrubs will vary in cost based on their size, type and age. Shrubs like Barberry and Spirea that are easy to propagate, are less expensive and common. These are great choices for a smaller budget plan. These plants are just one aspect of your room, and common shrubs will not take away from the beauty of your setting. Purchasing young and undeveloped shrubs will cost less than more mature and developed plants. However, if you give them time to grow in your setting, they will mature and become quite beautiful as well. The most important aspect in choosing a shrub is to get a strong and health plant with good roots.
Always consider the height and habits of a shrub before you plant it. You should arrange the shrubbery in the border according to the size they will become, and not their small size when you purchase them. Crowding plants in to achieve a look from the beginning is okay, so long as you plant to this out the area as plant grows larger. If your plan is drawn to scale, it will be easy to see how far apart plants should be and the exact number need to create the look you want.
Deciduous Trees
Trees come in a variety of different sizes, from a very small and young tree to large more developed trees. As to which tree you should choose depends mostly on the space you have available and the expense. Often a younger smaller tree is best for planting, as large trees need to be developed for the purpose of transplanting, and require some sort of apparatus to move them. However, if you have no large trees, the benefits of adding a single one will greatly improve the appearance of your setting. Nurseries with tree moving equipments can move these trees easily, at a cost no more expensive then the price of one or two pieces of furniture for indoor living rooms. From this viewpoint, the addition of a large tree will add a delightful and attractive touch.
